How do you approach your Giant?

For 40 days, Goliath taunted, berated, and fulfilled his mission to instill fear and terror into the hearts of the Israelites. This giant was intimidating.

David, who was so solid in his relationship and identity of Yahweh, didn’t hesitate when he chose to run and face-off with Israel’s biggest threat.

But where did this faith and knowledge and confidence begin? It began in the quiet places on the backside of a mountain. David was the youngest and had the lowly job of tending sheep. But in the place of his seemingly insignificant job, God was revealing himself to David in ways that changed the trajectory of his life and instilled a faith and relationship so deep, that his story is changing many lives through many generations and centuries.

David came to know God through the small victories and defeats and when he saw the biggest Giant, fear and terror did not overcome him. Instead faith rose up from within and David, who ignored his brother’s jeers and false accusations, who stripped off the kings armor, and used the weapon that had defeated every enemy of the past to slay the biggest giant he’d ever seen.

Here is the take away:
1. Remember: the victories God has given in the past. Write them down and start praising Jesus and remember the seasons of your life when you were on the back side of the mountain. Use this as a time of intimacy in prayer and Thanksgiving.
2. Reject any lie or thought from the enemy that comes against the truth of who you are in Christ. Keep that shield and helmet  around your mind, will, and emotions.
3. The only armor you need is the spiritual armor of God. (Speak that armor over yourself!)
4. Courageously take up your weapons and run to the giant. Use the shield of faith and the breastplate of righteousness to launch the stones of the truth of God’s Word into the forehead of your giant.

Only God can do the impossible. The word says that Goliath fell forward. Wait what??? Shouldn’t he have fallen backward? With the force and power or stone being launched toward him-only God could have made Goliath fall forward.

The battle belongs to the Lord. Sing His praises and victories and truths BEFORE you see your giant fall.

I would love to hear of the victories big, small, on the backside of your mountain time with Jesus. If you feel led to-please share them here. Let’s revel in the greatness of God together. ❤️

Studying God's word and teaching for transformation are two of my favorite things. And there is no place better to study than with my sistas! I am most grateful for my salvation, and relationship with Jesus, for the incredible Godly man I have covenanted with, and the four beautiful daughters we get to raise together.
