In Every Season

I don’t know exactly where you are on your journey with Jesus, but I have been in a bit of desert place.  It’s been dry and weary and I am thirsty and hungry and ready to jump in to His Word, tune my ear to His voice and allow Him to speak to my spirit.  I am ready to see some transformation in some areas of my life, and I would love to invite you to join me this summer on this online Bible Study adventure!

Here are a couple of options if you want to join me…

Option 1

If you have some friends who want to study and spend time with Jesus, I encourage you to invite them over to your home once a week to share together what God is teaching you on this journey.

Option 2

Or you can simply follow this weekly plan on your own.

To begin our journey in First Corinthians, I’m including a few questions to help you narrow down what areas of growth, or places of transformation you may be wanting in your walk with the Lord.

Transformation and Prayer

Print this sheet or record your thoughts and prayers in a journal.  Spend some time thinking about what your greatest spiritual need is.  Maybe you’re like me and you have a LOT.  God loves it when we recognize our need for Him.  Perhaps your need is a desire to be purposed to spend time daily in the word, or maybe you’re longing for growth in one of the fruits of the Spirit.  Sometimes it’s easy to look at our circumstances or relationships and think that our greatest needs are based what we are experiencing in the natural, or a desire for our circumstances to change, but I would like to challenge you to think about what your greatest need is within your own heart and mind.

I am a living testimony of the power of the Word of God.  His Word does the work that is needed for me to grow and be transformed into the image of God.  I do not know exactly what all we will be learning on this adventure, but I do know WHO we will meet with every single day.  Jesus, who knows every need we have before we ask Him, the author and perfecter of our faith, our bridegroom, our friend who is more excited than we are to meet with us.  When we find the sweet place of surrender in letting go of circumstances, and life’s messiness, and our own weaknesses-we can step in to Trust and step into His Truth and His Love that far surpasses anything this world has to offer.

The format is pretty simple.  The time needed each day to spend in the Word and studying is totally up to you.  The questions and prayer time, and time needed to study each day can be as little as 10 minutes or as long as an hour.  Now, if you’re like me and you are just getting back in to Bible Study after a break, or this is your first one ever, your time with Jesus may start out more as a duty.  But as I have discovered in my walk with Jesus, the more time I spend with Him, the more delight I experience and my time and desire to be with Him grows.

Each week we will take a portion of scripture in First Corinthians.

Here is a devotional plan to help you in your Daily Studies.

Daily Devotions

to  guide you as you dive in to scripture.  I am including some free

Resources

to help you on this journey.

Print the following Study Sheet to help you journal your thoughts and prayers.

Weekly Study Sheet

for you to fill out weekly that follows the Daily Devotions Plan.  This will be a printable pdf file and can be printed right from your home printer, or you can get a journal to record your conversations with Jesus without the pdf version.  If you are going to meet with a group of friends, I recommend setting a time to meet and sticking as closely as you can to that time.  I know it’s summer and vacations and kids and visits from grandparents are happening, so I recommend that you choose a co-host to lead with you.

On Friday of each week I will write a weekly devotion and encouragement about the portion of scripture we have been studying for the week.  If you want to host a small group in your home, here are some tips and guidelines to help you lead a small group.

I would love for you to join me on this journey with Jesus.  I know He has countless treasures for all of us to discover.

A short intro to First Corinthians will be posted on June 1st!

The First chapter of First Corinthians is our first stop

beginning the week of June 4th.

I can’t wait!

Studying God's word and teaching for transformation are two of my favorite things. And there is no place better to study than with my sistas! I am most grateful for my salvation, and relationship with Jesus, for the incredible Godly man I have covenanted with, and the four beautiful daughters we get to raise together.

  1. Dear Jill,

Thank you for sharing yourself and your struggles, experiences and victories as a testimony of God. This is what Daddy God has been talking to me about sharing the Testimony of God. I will see about setting it up as a weekly meeting in Christ. I look forward to studying with you and meeting you sometime. I have several women who may enjoy this too. Since I work full time, may share the email and encourage them to participate but that we all might do it from our homes with you and perhaps meet once a week for evening fellowship and discuss. Would be fun anyway talking bout the Lord.

    Sincerely,

    Sandy Stacey

  2. Jill,

I’m so grateful for you! God is beautifully using you as a vessel for Him. Your words pierce straight to the heart which are real and relatable. Thank you. I am very interested in participating! I’m ready to dive back in and soak up the sweetness of the Holy Spirit. I don’t have a small group but would love to join one if there’s one avail. If not, I’ll totally be doing this individually which is good too! 🙂 Thank you Jill!
