1 Samuel 5:1-12

David is anointed as King over all of Israel and is now searching and establishing an earthly dwelling place for his earthly kingdom. And no coincidence could explain the selection of David’s choice, but God. It had been shown to Moses hundreds of years before, “But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go;”. God had selected this prime piece of land to be His Dwelling Place. And with God’s direction and leadership, David goes into a city that is occupied by the enemies of God, and established his family’s earthly kingdom on Mount Zion. It was a neutral city that did not have a negative connotation within the 12 tribes of Israel. But more importantly, Jerusalem was, still is, and will forever be established as God’s Dwelling Place.
This girl’s feet have stood on mount Moriah and my eyes have seen the ruins of the city of David-mount Zion. It is too powerful to put in words the tangible feeling of the spirit of God when I was emmersed in God’s presence in Jerusalem.

David began establishing and building his family’s compound on mount Moriah before all of the Jubusites had left the city. Where did his confidence to drive out the enemy come from?

It’s in verse 12 of 2 Samuel chapter 5.
“Then David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.”
‭‭

This is how David walked in the confidence of God to establish his dwelling place on the most sacred piece of property in the world.

He knew (to be certain) The Lord has established (to make secure and permanent) has King over Israel.

Sisters, when we are certain that we have been made secure and God has permanently declared us as His royalty, we receive the deed (for free) to the most sacred dwelling place in all of the world. Our name is written on the deed.
Our inheritance in Jesus Christ has nothing to do with physical, financial, or material possessions and worldly wealth. We can have our spiritual inheritance right now. It is greater than wealth, greater than worldly perfection standards.
It is a deep, meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ Himself. What does that mean? The treasures untold are the fruits of His Spirit, communion with the Perfect One, emotional wholeness and well-being. I am still digging and could my entire life and never fully grasp the beauty of my inheritance in Christ.

God’s dwelling place encountered and established within us when invite Him in. You don’t have to be in Jerusalem to encounter and experience the life-changing power of the Spirit of the Living God.

When you know for certain God has made you His Royalty, He drives out the enemy forces and your permanent address is forever changed.

Studying God's word and teaching for transformation are two of my favorite things. And there is no place better to study than with my sistas! I am most grateful for my salvation, and relationship with Jesus, for the incredible Godly man I have covenanted with, and the four beautiful daughters we get to raise together.
