Obesession with a Flea=Darkness Godly Confidence = Freedom week 5 day 4

Obsession with a Flea=Darkness
Godly Confidence=Freedom

Saul is obsessed and overcome with a desire to destroy David. He mobilized an army of 3,000 men to track one man down with the intent of murder. He ends up making a camp in Hakilah, which in Hebrew means “dull and dark”.

The showdown between the two anointed kings of Israel is becoming more and more intense. One king is on the throne, and the other is holding on to a promise from years before in Bethlehem.

What could be driving Saul to track David down and destroy his lineage and calling? So much sin had darkened and dulled Saul’s thinking. Jealousy, rage, hatred, fear, and an obsession to wipe out all of the beauty of a man surrendered and sold out to Yahweh drove Saul to his own destruction.

From the top of a hill, David looked down upon the sleeping giant and courageously slipped in to a trap set to destroy him. Miraculously, God had caused a deep sleep to fall on the blood thirsty, power hungry army. These men could not withstand the power of Yahweh. Nor could their obsession trump the will of God for David’s appointed lineage to birth our future Messiah. With the strength of God, this one man held on to all he knew of God, and took Saul’s weapon and his water jug surrounded by a seething army, full and dark in direct opposition of the King of Kings.

Two anointed Kings. Two different legacies. One Perfect Will of God.

What caused Saul to fall out of alignment with God’s Will?
Answer: Saul
He chose the path of destruction and willingly walked away from God’s perfect will.
What caused David to stay in alignment with God’s Will?
Answer:David’s surrendered heart ❤️

The only thing that can deter the will of God in our lives is our choices.

No blood-thirsty, angry, hatred-filled army that hunts day and night seeking to devour us can stop the will of God in our lives.

I have made some Saul choices in my own life. Have you? But by the grace, and mercy, of Jesus Christ, He has wooed me back to a place of re-aligning my heart and soul to the will of God. I pray to stay in this place for the remainder of my days and give the spirit permission to convict me when I “Saul it up.”

If you are in the valley of darkness that can dull the Holy Spirit in your life-
Arise Beloved, Anointed, Bride of Christ. Stand on the promise and walk in the anointing that Jesus bestowed upon you years ago in “Bethlehem”. No angry bloodthirsty army can deter or derail you from God’s perfect will. Re-align your thinking and see the enemy for what it is. It’s not a person-it’s powers of darkness that desire to dull us into believing lies.

Place your confidence in Jesus and arise. When you do, His clarity and wisdom, and direction will be made known to you.

Surrender ❤️

Studying God's word and teaching for transformation are two of my favorite things. And there is no place better to study than with my sistas! I am most grateful for my salvation, and relationship with Jesus, for the incredible Godly man I have covenanted with, and the four beautiful daughters we get to raise together.

  1. Amen, Jill! This is so good. I love King David. We see he is a believer and honors God many times and praises Him on mountain top experiences as well as in the valleys! We can make wrong choices and sometimes be our own worst enemy but God! He is so loving and rich in mercy! There is no where I would rather turn! God bless you, Sister! Christ in us is the hope of glory. I am submitting my heart and thoughts to God! He sees all. His plans are good for us. New creatures live! Jesus has moved in. Abiding in the Vine is safe! Amen!
