David was thrust into battle after battle because Saul’s gripping fear and jealousy drove him to try and set David up for a certain death. Saul’s Godly vision had been stripped from him when God’s Spirit had departed. So, he blindly, with all of his natural strength, used earthly weapons to launch his attacks.
David was driven by faith and the spirit of the living God. Fear was far from him. With each victory, he gained more faith and had deeper insight into the spiritual battles he faced. With each battle he was thrust into, he gained more and more confidence and everyone around him cheered him to more victories.
And then there was Saul. When David returned after each increasingly difficult battle in complete victory-Saul’s fear and hatred grew and went deeper and deeper until the only vision Saul had was hatred. That hatred clouded his ability to make the right choices.
My question is-what is driving you, your choices, and your daily mindset and attitude?
Is it fear?
Or is it faith?
Today, I boldly choose faith. In the past fear was my go to choice. Today, I shut out the lies of the enemy and sever fear with the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, give me strength, spiritual vision, and the power of your Holy Spirit to walk in victory.
