The Hero is Hated (Week 2 Day One)

Copy of Copy of Copy of Dwell Social Media Graphic (2)

David defeats Goliath.
Israel is spared defeat.
Saul requires David to live in his household.
Saul is oppressed by an evil spirit.
David becomes famous.
Saul rages with jealousy.
He tried to take David’s life with a spear-twice.

Did you find the beauty and provision in today’s scripture? How could this be a crossroads for David and his relationship with God?

Have you ever found yourself in the place where David is?
You’ve accepted him as Savior.
You know Him intimately.
You have been anointed by the spirit.
You walk in obedience and God delivers you from the enemy.
(Right here is where I would want to be given all the fluffy beauty of a palace and a the stuff that comes with it)
Instead-your next assignment is filled with terror, fright, your very relationship with God is tested.
Things haven’t gone the way you thought they would-I mean-you’re a hero! Right?

Where is the beauty of victoriously defeating the enemy, only to be “rehomed” to a place of strife and tension and a place your very life is threatened?

Jonathan was give to David in the midst of a life-threatening time. They Covenanted together.

Your “Jonathan/Covenant” May not be an actual person. Your covenant may be a word or a scripture or a promise-a covenant between you and Christ. He will never leave you forsake you even when everything was supposed to turn out a different way-maybe-just maybe-the beauty in your mess is an encounter with Christ like you’ve never experienced.

Studying God's word and teaching for transformation are two of my favorite things. And there is no place better to study than with my sistas! I am most grateful for my salvation, and relationship with Jesus, for the incredible Godly man I have covenanted with, and the four beautiful daughters we get to raise together.
